ENAMELING

Enameling is a technique that uses fine-ground glass that is attached to the metal surface in a high-temperature (about 1450 degrees F) kiln. In the kiln, the powdered glass becomes liquefied and forms a glossy surface. The commercially available enamels come in hundreds of different colors and can be either transparent or opaque.
